A majority of goodegggrants grants writing and relationship building has been with family foundations, community foundations and corporations. We have been successful securing funding for capital campaigns, museum renovations, after school programs, community science lecture series and much more that has enriched families, students, and our community.
The move to start goodegggrants began after a successful summer of events had wrapped up. One wears many hats working in development, which provides enormous opportunity for outreach in the community. One wonderfully creative and multi-talented businesswoman, also a grants writer, became a sponsor of two of our nonprofit’s events. Throughout the summer our sponsor and I met for coffee and coffee cake in order to keep on top of deadlines and production and maintain the proper caffeine and sugar ratio necessary for the tasks. The more we talked that summer the more I realized my desire to return to grant writing was overwhelming.
I began by writing grants at the nonprofit for which I was working. Over time the position developed into the broader title of development and fundraising as the organization grew. Soon I realized that securing more funding for many nonprofits to achieve multiple missions through programs that enrich the community, was my goal so I finished my work with the organization and goodegggrants was started.
